IIW : General Area Tuchandrai Bazar, District Khowai, Tripura. In a significant success against drug trafficking, Assam Rifles in a joint operation with Customs officials, recovered a large consignment of narcotics on 21 July 2025. During the operation the joint team intercepted an Ashok Leyland truck (Registration No. TR‑01‑AR‑1754) and on thorough search, 1,40,000 Yaba tablets, valued at approximately ₹14 Crores in the international market were recovered. The driver of the truck was also apprehended.
The seized contraband and the apprehended individual have been handed over to Customs Department for further investigation and legal proceedings.
